Harriet Goode Biography Education: Studied art at Converse College, Spartanburg, SC; with William Halsey in Charleston SC; briefly at Silvermine School of Art, New Canaan CT; BFA (Honorary) from Winthrop University Rock Hill SC. Workshops in SC & NC. Juried Exhibitions and Awards: National juried competitions and awards in NY, CA, SC, AL, NC, GA, IL, CO. Professional Experience: As a young adult in the 1950s and early ‘60s: Asst. to the Director, Gibbes Museum of Art, Charleston SC; free lance illustrator and art teacher in Charleston. In the 1970s and early ‘80s: free lance illustrator, Rock Hill SC; custom needlepoint designer; bank PR & advertising director. 1983-2001, exhibited in national juried shows: full time studio painter. 2001-2007: owner, Gallery 5, Rock Hill, SC. Currently full time studio painter with oil as primary medium, and art consultant.
